Belfast being run correctly say residents

People in Belfast are increasingly happy with how their city is being run, a new survey released next week is expected to show.

The survey, conducted by PricewaterhouseCoopers, will reveal that a total of 92% of residents enjoy living in Belfast while 78% say they are proud to live in the city.

Around 60% of residents, meanwhile, believe that services provided by Belfast City Council have improved during the past two years and 65% expressed overall satisfaction levels with council services, although that figure has fallen from 71% in 2002.

The full results of the survey of public attitudes to Belfast City Council’s services, which was conducted earlier this year, will be announced next week.

The purpose of the survey was to identify the issues of greatest importance to rate-payers and consider how council services can be improved.

The results are expected show a significant increase in public satisfaction with the council’s communications with ratepayers, but reveal concerns about some other services.
