The Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service (NIFRS) has launched a new Cadet recruitment campaign.

The service is seeking cadets on Belfast, Bangor, Lisburn and Newry, to begin in September 2023.

The NIFRS said: "Are you starting School Year 11 in September 2023? Would you like to develop life skills whilst building friendships and having fun? Why not join Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service Cadets?

"The Cadets Scheme is open to everyone and we particularly welcome applications from females.

"In order to reflect the community we serve, for this intake we encourage applicants from ethnic minorities, those in receipt of free school meals and persons with a disability."

Applications close on Friday 21 April 2023 at noon.
