Portadown Murder Victim Named As Alesia Nazarova

Detectives investigating the murder of a woman in Portadown have named the victim as Alesia Nazarova.

Alesia, 37, was pronounced dead at the scene of a house fire in the Church Street area of the town in the early hours of Tuesday, 21 March.

Another female occupant of the house required hospital treatment but has subsequently been discharged.

Detective Chief Inspector Rachel Wilson said: "A 25-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder, attempted murder, and arson with intent to endanger life. He remains in custody at this time.

"Our investigation continues, and I am appealing to anyone with information, or who witnessed anything untoward, to please get in touch. Likewise, if you have captured dash cam footage, please contact detectives on 101 quoting reference number 92 of 21/03/23."

Murder inquiry launched in County Down
Detectives in County Down have launched a murder inquiry after a man was fatally stabbed during an incident yesterday evening. The attack happened in the Derrybeg area of Newry at around 7.30pm, when it is understood that the victim intervened in a row.
