Search Operation Launches In L'Derry

The PSNI's Terrorism Investigation Unit (TIU) are conducting a search operation in L'Derry as part of an ongoing investigation into New IRA activity.

The planned search in the Letterkenny Road area was conducted with support from District and Tactical Support Group colleagues.

Detective Inspector O'Flaherty said: "We are grateful for the continued support of local communities as we continue our work to disrupt those involved in terrorism-related activity. We will continue to use all tools at our disposal to reduce the threat posed by violent dissident republicans and we encourage anyone with information, or concerns, to contact us on 101."

Funeral for dinghy tragedy teenager
A Coleraine teenager, who drowned off the coast of Castlerock, is to be buried today. Robert McMullan, 15, died when the dinghy he was in with a friend got into difficulties and capsized on Tuesday. He was airlifted to hospital, but died later. His friend managed to swim to shore and raised the alarm.

Cigarettes, Tobacco And Cash Seized
Police and customs officers have seized more than 13,000 cigarettes and five kilos of hand-rolling tobacco. The seizures were made during the course of a major search operation of 11 properties in north and west Belfast. Officers also seized £6,000 in cash under the proceeds of the crime act.
