Man Arrested After Injured Dog Found Partially Buried

A 29-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of animal cruelty following a report of a dog that was found injured and partially buried in Ballyarnett Country Park in L'Derry on Wednesday 15th March.

Inspector Kyle Rowntree said: "On Thursday 16th March, officers also conducted a search under warrant at a property in the Carnhill area. Three dogs were removed and placed into the appropriate care for their wellbeing. Enquiries are continuing and police would like to thank the local community for their assistance in relation to this investigation.

"The man was arrested on suspicion of animal cruelty offences and is currently in police custody.

"Enquiries are continuing and we continue to appeal for information in relation to this investigation. Man Arrested In L'Derry

A number of items were seized for further examination. The man was taken to be questioned, however he has now been released.

Man arrested over Electoral Office fraud
A 58-year-old man from Co Tyrone has been arrested and charged following a police investigation into irregularities at an Electoral Office in the west of the province. The man was charged with 30 offences, 17 of which relate to theft and 13 of fake accounting. He will appear before a court in Omagh on November 11.

Two Men Arrested Over Attempted Murder Of Police Officer
Two men have been arrested following the attempted murder of a police officer who has a fireball bomb planted in her car in L'Derry. The suspects, aged 36 and 26, are being detained under the Terrorism Act.
