SF Welcomes News Of Joe Biden Visit To NI
Sinn Féin has welcomed news that US President Joe Biden will visit Belfast to mark the 25th anniversary of the signing of the Good Friday Agreement.
First Minister Elect Michelle O'Neill said: "The Assembly Speaker Alex Maskey informed the political parties a number of weeks ago that he has invited President Joe Biden to address the Assembly.
"Now that a presidential visit has been confirmed, I would be delighted to welcome President Biden to Belfast as we mark 25 years since the signing of the Good Friday Agreement in a few weeks time.
"The United States has been a key partner for peace in Ireland and such a visit demonstrates its continued commitment, which is deeply valued.
"As the eyes of the world turn to our island once more, we must use this opportunity to attract economic Investment and create good jobs for our people.
"Now that agreement has been secured on the Brexit Protocol, we must keep political momentum going and restore the Executive without delay.
"There are huge opportunities before us which must be seized."

US President Joe Biden To Arrive In Belfast Tonight
A major security operation is in place in Belfast city centre, in preparation for a visit from US President, Joe Biden. Due to arrive in the city this evening (Tuesday 11 April), Air Force One, the official Presidential aircraft, will arrive from Washington DC into International Airport, where he will be greeted by Prime Minister Rishi Sunak.

Northern Ireland's First and Deputy First Ministers have written a letter of congratulations to new US President-elect Joe Biden. Writing on behalf of the Executive following Mr Biden's election success, the Ministers expressed their hope that Northern Ireland's links with the US will be further strengthened under his presidency.
