Weather Warning For Snow Issued Across NI

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for snow across Northern Ireland.

The warning came into force at 7am and will remain until 2pm on Friday, 10 March.

An amber warning for snow and ice in some parts of NI has also been issued.

It covers areas including parts of Co Down, Co Antrim and Co Armagh, and comes into place at 3pm.

Between 10 to 20cm of snow could fall over high ground the Met Office has said.

The PSNI is advising motorists to take extra care on the roads.

A spokesperson said: “Clear your windscreen of ice and snow before you set off and remember to slow down and increase the distance between you and the car ahead.

“Stopping distances increase greatly when weather conditions are poor, so slow down and leave a bigger gap between your vehicle and the vehicle in front, and drive as smoothly as possible.”
