L'Derry Security Alert Continues

An operation is ongoing in L'Derry following the discovery of 'a device' in the Oeghill Hill Park area of Drumahoe.

Derry City & Strabane Superintendent Clive Beatty said: "We received this report shortly after 10pm last night, Sunday 5th March. Extensive searches have been conducted, however, nothing untoward has been located at this time.

"As we continue with our enquiries this morning, we're urging the public to be vigilant. We're appealing to anyone who sees anything suspicious in this area not to touch it or pick it up, but to call us immediately on 999. We'd also ask anyone with information, or who may have been in Oeghill Hill Park last night and saw anything suspicious to call us on 101, quoting reference number 1741 of 05/03/23."

Teenager Suffers Burns At Eleventh Night Bonfire
A teenage boy has been hospitalised after suffering burns at an Eleventh Night bonfire in north Belfast. The incident took place in the early hours of Monday morning, 12 July, at around 12.30am in the Silverstream Crescent Area. He sustained burns to his face and body and remains in hospital at this time.

Appeal After Woman Robbed At Knifepoint In Belfast City Centre
Detectives are investigating a robbery that occurred in Belfast City Centre on Sunday, 29 September. According to police, a woman was walking in the May Street/East Bridge Street area around midnight when she was approached by a man armed with a large knife.

Appeal For Information On West Belfast Shooting
The PSNI have issued an appeal for information and witnesses following a shooting in west Belfast on Thursday 8th June. A man, aged in his 20s, was taken into City Cemetery in the Falls Road area by two masked men and was shot in the foot. The incident occurred shortly after 10.30pm last night.

Appeal Issued After Suspected Hit-And-Run In L'Derry
Police in L'Derry have issued an appeal for information and witnesses following a suspected hit-and-run road traffic collision in the city. Just after 8.30am on Sunday 26th November, police received a report that a man, aged in his 60s, had been taken to hospital shortly before 5.15am with significant injuries.
