Seven injured in road accident

Seven people been have been injured following a road traffic accident in Co Down on Monday.

The collision occurred on the Downshire Road in Newry shortly before 6pm and involved a blue Ford Transit minibus and a lorry.

The driver of the minibus and seven passengers were injured and taken to hospital for treatment. None of their injuries are thought to be life-threatening.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police at Newry on 028 3026 5500.

Elsewhere, police and fire officers have been attacked by a crowd of stone throwing youths in West Belfast on Monday.

The emergency services teams were attending a malicious fire a derelict building at Devonshire Place, off the Grosvenor Road, at around 10pm when a crowd of around 30 people converged and began throwing bricks and stones.

The incident left one officer injured and minor damage was caused to a police vehicle.

Man Killed In Fermanagh Road Crash
A man has been killed in a road crash in Co Fermanagh. The collision happened on the Derrygonelly Road in Enniskillen at around 2pm on Saturday, 15 October. Two other people were also injured in the two-vehicle crash. Elsewhere, a man has been seriously injured in a road collision in Ballywalter, Co Down.

Man Seriously Injured Following Crash In L'Derry
A man has been seriously injured following a crash in Co L'Derry. The collision, between a car and a motorbike, happened on the Ballyquinn Road in Limavady at approximately 2.45pm on Saturday, 21 May. A man, aged in his 40s, is being treated in hospital and a woman, aged in her 20s, is being treated for shock.
