Search Operations Carried Out In Newtownards
The Paramilitary Crime Task Force (PCTF) have conducted two searches in the Newtownards area on the evening of Monday 20th February.
As part of an investigation into ongoing criminality linked to East Belfast UVF, detectives conducted proactive searches in Newtownards.
A number of electronic devices were recovered and have been seized for examination.
Detective Inspector Maguire said: "The searches and seizures are a demonstration of the PCTF's commitment to tackle all types of organised criminality linked to paramilitaries, in an ongoing effort to rid our communities of the harm these groups cause and of their coercive control.
"Our enquiries are ongoing and we would like to thank the local community for their continued support and will continue to act on the information you provide us.
"I would encourage anyone with information regarding criminal activity to contact us on 101.”

A large quantity of suspected illegal drugs were seized during a Paramilitary Crime Task Force (PCTF) search operation at a property in west Belfast on Wednesday, 21st February. The search, in the Dermott Hill Road area, was part of an ongoing investigation into suspected criminality linked to the INLA.

Detectives to revisit murder scene
Detectives are to revisit the scene of last week’s murder of 25-year-old Jameson Lockhart later on Friday. There will be checkpoints on the lower Newtownards Road and Templemore Avenue in east Belfast close to where Mr Lockhart was shot dead. Detectives said they wanted to talk to motorists who were in the area last Friday morning.
