SPAR Opens NI's First Barista Bar Coffee Drive-Thru

SPAR has opened Northern Ireland's first-ever Barista Bar Coffee Drive-Thru, following a major investment in Mallusk.

The multi-million pound investment by local business Henderson Retail has seen the store undergo a complete renovation and extension, creating 28 jobs and bringing a host of new services to the area.

To complement its new drive-thru Barista Bar facility, the outlet also features Delish food counters – Henderson's new food-to-go brand, with freshly made-in-store hot and cold offerings for breakfast, lunch and dinner. These include a burrito bar, rotisserie chicken and indulgent ice cream and shakes.

Welcoming the launch of the refurbished store, Mayor of Antrim and Newtownabbey Alderman Stephen Ross, said: "I am delighted to see this major investment by Henderson Retail in a store that has been at the heart of the Mallusk community for over 20 years. This new, modern outlet brings together a wide range of services together under one roof.

"Importantly, it still maintains its strong focus on the local community, providing additional services including a full-service Post Office and stocking a range of products from nearby Mayfield Village Butchers."

Danielle Martin, Store Manager of SPAR Mallusk added: "Our staff, shoppers and their families are residents of the local community, and we work every day to ensure we are engaging with local organisations, schools and groups to make a difference.

"Last month, we completed a local litter pick with the Mallusk and District Community Support Group at Mallusk Playing Fields, and we fundraise for Mallusk Presbyterian Church, recently donating coffee and treats for the Women's Group."
