Ministers Condemn Threats To Family Of Glenn Quinn
Ministers have condemned those responsible for threats made against the family of Glenn Quinn.
Mr Quinn was beaten to death at his home in Carrickfergus in January 2020. According to reports the Quinn family, who have said that they believe "individuals linked to the South East Antrim UDA were responsible for his murder", have received threats 12 times since Glenn's murder. With the PSNI contacting the family about the latest threat at the weekend.
Condemning the threats, DUP Leader Sir Jeffrey Donaldson, said: "I have met Mrs Quinn and her family. They simply want justice for the brutal murder of their loved one. Mrs Quinn is herself a widow of a former soldier and for this threat to be made at any time is outrageous but to be issued on remembrance week speaks volumes about the people behind it. I stand with the Quinn family and their campaign for justice."
Mr Hilditch said: "This further threat will be condemned by all democrats. We will continue to support the Quinn family and work with the police to help in any way to advance justice. There must be no hiding place for those who continue to harass this family who have suffered so much pain and heartache."
Alliance East Antrim MLA Stewart Dickson added: "These threats are utterly disgusting and need to be removed immediately.
"It is particularly shameful to have the threats emanate from Carrick, which is a town where these gangsters have no support and represent nobody but themselves.
"I have met the Quinn family on a number of occasions and given my support to them. These threats have added an intolerable pressure on his grieving mother and brother, and anyone with information on them should take it to police immediately."
