Appeal Isssued After Man Assaulted In South Belfast

A man has been treated in hospital after being assaulted outside licensed premises in south Belfast.

Police are appealing for information following the attack in the Dublin Road area in the early hours of Sunday.

A PSNI spokesperson said: "At approximately 12.20am, police received a report that a man had been approached by an unknown male outside a licensed premises in the area and was attacked.

"The victim was taken to hospital, where he received treatment for his injuries."

Police are seeking anyone who may have witnessed the assault or who may have any video footage that could assist police with enquiries, to get in touch on 101 quoting reference 53 of 28/08/22."

A police appeal for help in finding the 35-year-old has been cancelled, with police saying they now believe they know where he is. Missing Man Found 'Safe And Well'
Missing man Declan Mawhinney has been found safe and well, according to the police. Mr Mawhinney, 46, went missing from Letterkenny on Saturday at approximately 11.40pm. A missing person appeal was launched by the police and his family. He was located in Letterkenny on Tuesday. Police thank the public for their assistance.
