Sysco To Create 90 New Jobs In NI
Sysco, the US-based multinational food service company, has announced the creation of 90 new jobs in Northern Ireland.
As part of plans to double the size of its business in NI, Sysco has submitted a planning application for a new distribution centre at Nutts Corner, representing an investment of £23m.
The major food distribution firm currently employs around 140 people in Northern Ireland and some 1,400 on the island of Ireland.

While a Wicklow-based pizza firm has announced plans to expand its franchise presence in Northern Ireland, creating dozens of local jobs, around 90 are being lost elsewhere. Four Star Pizza, which already has outlets in Belfast, Londonderry and Newtownabbey, is set to open three new shops as part of an all-island expansion plan.

A Northern Ireland meat company is opening a new vegan factory in County Down in a £3 million investment set to create up to 90 jobs. Finnebrogue Artisan, which was first known for its venison products, has been producing vegetarian and vegan alternatives for three years but is up-scaling its meat-free production with the new Downpatrick factory.

NI Food Firm Sold To US Interest
A County Down food firm is being bought over by a US company for an undisclosed sum. Crossgar Foodservice, which sells poultry, meat, chilled, frozen and grocery items throughout Ireland and the UK, was bought by a subsidiary of the American company Sysco.
