Bauer Media Top NI Radio Charts
Bauer Media Audio NI's range of radio stations – Cool FM, Downtown Radio and Downtown Country – have "topped the chart" in the latest RAJAR commercial radio report.
Cool FM remains the biggest commercial station in the region, with 440,000 weekly listeners. Downtown Radio has also cemented its position as the second most listened to station with its weekly reach increasing to 285,000 listeners.
As NI's top performing commercial digital station, with a weekly audience of 105,000, Downtown Country completes the circle.
Thanks to a combined total of 695,000 weekly listeners, Bauer Media captures the lion share of the local commercial radio audience.
The very positive figures were revealed in the first quarterly RAJAR results (*RAJAR Q1 2022 Base: Cool FM TSA), highlighting a strong trend for the highly popular stations.
The RAJAR results come on the back of a recent research project conducted by Bauer Media Audio NI which revealed that radio is the most trusted media platform. 70% of those surveyed said they felt a close relationship with their radio station and 75% stated they'll listen to more radio in a post Covid world.
"We're delighted with the first RAJAR results for 2022," said David Tighe, Managing Director of Bauer Media Audio NI.
"The first quarter of this year was a time when we faced yet more change as we moved out of the pandemic and towards some form of normal living.
"In a somewhat fragmented and increasingly competitive media landscape we have redefined and reshaped our content to ensure it remains relevant and engaging for all our audiences.
"Commercially this has enabled us to keep our customers front and centre in terms of radio advertising in Northern Ireland, offering highly effective, top performing communications platforms for our expanding customer base."
