Family escape injury in pipe bomb attack

A Co Down couple and their baby grandson have escaped injury following a pipe bomb attack at their home.

The incident occurred in the Breezemount estate at Conlig near Bangor shortly before midnight.

The bomb was thrown at the house and landed on the corrugated roof of a shed before exploding.

Damage to the house included a shattered window and a broken wardrobe inside. No one was injured in the attack.

Police believe the device was thrown from an alleyway behind the property.

House Damaged In Petrol Bomb attack
A house in Larne has been damaged in a petrol bomb attack, according to police. It happened on Church Way at around 10.30pm on Wednesday. A man was in the house at the time but was unhurt. Minor damage was caused to the property and a window was smashed. Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.

Petrol Bomb Thrown At Community Centre In L'Derry
A petrol bomb has been thrown at a community centre in Co L'Derry. The device was thrown at the Dove House building at around 11.30pm on Thursday, 18 August. Scorch damage was caused to the front of the building. Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.

Couple escape in East Belfast petrol bomb attack
Two people have escaped injury after a petrol bomb was thrown at their East Belfast house in the early hours of this morning. The couple were in their house, on Uniondale Street, when the device was thrown in through a front window. While both escaped injury in the attack, their house was extensively damaged in the fire.

Lucky Escape In Latest NI Bomb Bid
The intended target for what is thought to be the third attempted car bomb attack on security-related personnel in the past seven days is today lucky to be alive. A device was found in the Sweep Road area of Cookstown this morning with the road being closed near the local Glenavon Hotel.
