Police Investigate 'Unprovoked Attack' On Woman In Bangor
Police in Bangor have issued an appeal for information and witnesses into an unprovoked assault on a 36-year-old woman in Ward Park at around midday on Friday 22 April.
The victim was walking with her friends and their children, pushing one of her children in a buggy, when an unknown male approached and punched her to the back of the head. As she fell to the ground the male continued to punch her and then ran off.
The victim sustained injuries to her head, back and shoulders.
The suspect is described as around 6' tall wearing a facemask, a black baseball cap, grey bottoms and a black t-shirt.
Anyone who was in the area and who can assist police in identifying the perpetrator is asked to contact police on 101, quoting reference 669 22/04/22.

Police Officers Disciplined For Failing To Tell Doctor About Woman's Head Injuries
Two police officers have been disciplined after they failed to let their colleagues and a police doctor know that a woman had sustained a head injury, a Police Ombudsman investigation has concluded. The woman died from bleeding to the brain on 24 February 2014, the day after she suffered the injury.

Petrol bombers besiege Lurgan police station
A crowd throwing bricks, bottles and petrol bombs attacked Lurgan police station at around 8.45pm last night. The disturbance followed in the wake of a banned Black Preceptory parade through the town, which the police were reportedly forced to allow through when a lorry driver refused to move his vehicle from a cordoned off area.

Appeal Following Serious Assault And Robbery In Antrim
PSNI detectives have issued an appeal for information and witnesses after a man was assaulted and robbed in Antrim during the early hours of Monday, 18 March. The 26-year-old was walking in an alleyway adjacent to Seacash Drive at around 3.50am when he was approached by two men.

The PSNI have issued an appeal for information on three incidents in County Down on Monday 15 May, which they believe are connected. At around 6.45pm, police received a report of a black coloured Audi car being driven with two masked men inside and tape covering the vehicle registration plates in the Millisle Road area of Donaghadee.

PSNI Rehiring To Be Investigated
The PSNI’s hiring of retired officers as civilian staff on temporary contracts is to be investigated. The Audit Office has made the move to investigate after a BBC report revealed that hundreds of retired police officers have been re-employed. It is understood that these officers would have left the service with generous redundancy packages.
