Alsyon Nelson Murder - PSNI Granted Extra Time To Question Suspect

Police have been granted extra time to question a man who was arrested on suspicion of the murder of a woman in County Antrim.

Alyson Nelson, aged 64, was pronounced dead at a house in Victoria Avenue in Whitehead on Saturday following reports of a stabbing.

The PSNI launched a murder inquiry and have been given an additional 36 hours to question a man in his 60s who was arrested.

The police would like to speak to anyone who was in the area of Victoria Avenue, Edward Road, Balmoral Avenue, Kings Road or Islandmagee Road on Saturday between 5pm and 7pm and has dashcam footage, or who has premises with CCTV.

Man Charged With Attempted Murder Following Crossbow Attack
A man has been charged with attempted murder following a crossbow attack in south Belfast on Wednesday evening. A 29-year-old man was shot with a crossbow while he was in a parked car in the Belgravia Avenue area. His injuries are not believed to be life threatening. A woman was also in the car at the time of the attack but was not injured.

Man Arrested Over Crossbow Attack
Police are investigating after a 29-year-old man was shot with a crossbow as he sat in his car. The attack happened on Belgravia Avenue in the Lisburn Road area at about 17:20 on Wednesday. The victim was sitting in a car along with a 29-year-old woman, who escaped injury. The man's injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.
