Investigation Launched Into Alleged Shooting Incident In L'Derry

An investigation has been launched by the PSNI's Paramilitary Crime taskforce after masked men reportedly fired shots in L'Derry's Bogside area last Friday night night.

It is understood that video footage of the alleged incident appeared on social media on Monday.

A number of search operations have been carried out in the Bogside area.

PSNI Supt Clive Beatty described the incident as a "brazen and dangerous act".

The PSNI have appealed to anyone with any information about the alleged incident to contact them.

'No Evidence' Of Shots Fired At House In L'Derry
Police have said there was "no evidence" of shots being fired at a house in L'Derry. The incident happened in the Cornshell Fields area shortly after 11pm on Monday, 27 February. A PSNI spokesperson said: "Police have carried out a number of enquiries and there is no evidence to suggest that shots were fired.

Police link hostage incident to attack on police station
Police have linked a gun attack on a police station on Wednesday night with a hostage incident in Co Antrim. A van used in the shooting of Randalstown PSNI station on Wednesday evening is believed to have been the vehicle stolen earlier in the evening from a family who were held hostage by a gang of men at a house in Craigstown Road in the town.

Two PSNI Officers Arrested In Corruption Investigation
Two PSNI officers have been arrested as part of an ongoing investigation into misconduct in public office. According to reports, the officers were arrested in the greater Belfast area on Thursday 23 June by the Anti-Corruption Unit.
