Roy Reynolds Murder 'Barbaric And Horrific'
Roy Reynolds, the man whose body was recovered from North Woordburn Reservoir in Carrickfergus suffered a "barbaric and horrific" death, Belfast Magistrates' Court has heard.
Two men, aged 32 and 64, appeared before the court on Friday 01 April charged in connection with the murder of Mr Reynolds. The 32-year-old man has been charged with murder, while the 68-year-old has been charged with assisting in the disposal of a body.
According to reports, the court heard how police were alerted when a member of the public had witnessed the younger of the two men "dragging a naked body" from his flat in the early hours of Monday 28 March. The witness told police that they had seen the body being taken from the flat and being put in the boot of the older man's car.
The court reportedly heard that Mr Reynolds "suffered a brutal, sustained attack", with a detective stating: "It is barbaric, the injuries he suffered."
It is understood that a post-mortem has been conducted on Mr Reynolds body but not official cause of death has yet been confirmed.
The two men were refused bail and will in court again on 29 April.
