19-Year-Old Jailed For Life Over Ballymena Party Murder
Detectives from the PSNI's Major Investigation Team have welcomed a sentence handed down to Jordan McClintock for the murder of Jason Lee Martin.
McClintock, aged 19, received a life prison sentence, with a minimum of 11 years and 6 months before being eligible to apply for parole, at Belfast Crown Court.
Jason Lee Martin died in the early hours of Saturday 27 June 2020. He had been stabbed, by McClintock, at a house party in Ballymena's Orkney Drive.
Detective Inspector Gina Quinn said: "Mr Martin, who was aged 31, bled to death after being stabbed in the leg by Jordan McClintock.
"The attack, which was without motive, has taken a man's life. It's left a family bereft, and it's left two young sons without their father.
"There are, unfortunately, no words that can help to ease their heartbreak or undo this tragic event.
"I hope, however, that today's sentencing sends out a very clear message to anyone who thinks they can get away with such atrocity."
