Funeral takes place of Blue Peter presenter

The funeral of former Blue Peter presenter Caron Keating has taken place in England today.

The 41-year-old Northern Ireland born TV presenter died following a seven-year battle with cancer.

Today's ceremony, which was an open funeral, took place Hever Church, in Edenbridge, Kent.

Caron Keating was best known for presenting Blue Peter in the late 1980's with co-presenters Peter Duncan, Janet Ellis, Mark Curry, Yvette Fielding and John Leslie.

Later taking time out from presenting work to become a full-time mum, she returning to TV where she became a familiar face on ITV1's This Morning programme.

However, Caron was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1997 and had been fighting the disease ever since.

She leaves behind a husband and two sons, Charlie, aged nine, and seven-year-old Gabriel.

Former TV presenter Caron Keating dies
Former Blue Peter presenter, Caron Keating has died following a seven-year battle with cancer. The 41-year-old Northern Ireland born TV presenter died at the Kent home of her mother, Gloria Hunniford, on Tuesday night, her family have announced.

Foundation launched in memory of former Blue Peter presenter
A new organisation aimed at raising money for cancer charities has been launched today. The Caron Keating Foundation was launched in memory of the former Blue Peter presenter who died from breast cancer in April.

Wimbledon Finals To Be Shown At Belfast City Hall
The men's and women's Wimbledon finals are to be shown on the Big Screen at the Belfast City Hall this weekend. The Ladies' Singles final takes place on Saturday, 09 July, and the Men's Final takes place on Sunday, 10 July. Both matches start at 2pm, with pre-match coverage live from 1pm.

Minister Supports Regenerated Communities
