North Belfast Stabbing Believed To Be Racially-Motivated Attack

Police have issued an appeal for information following a stabbing incident in north Belfast, which is believed to have been racially-motivated.

A man, aged in his 30s, was found collapsed inside a vehicle on the Antrim Road just before 1am on Saturday 15 January. He had suffered a number of stab wounds to his chest and abdomen. The man remains in hospital.

Anyone with any information about the attack, especially anyone who may have witnessed it, is urged to contact police. Police said that they are "particularly interested in the movements of a black coloured Audi A4 car bearing English or Scottish registration plates".

Condemning the attack, Sinn Féin MLA Gerry Kelly said: "I have spoken to the police who said the man suffered injury wounds to his chest and abdomen but they are not thought to be life threatening.

"I wish the man a speedy recovery.

"Anyone with information should bring it forward to the PSNI."
