New Assured Skills Academy in Financial Services
A new Assured Skills Academy in Financial Services – Business Transformation has been announced in partnership with Deloitte, offering 20 high quality training places.
The Assured Skills Academy will see participants receive six weeks of industry-relevant training with South Eastern Regional College (SERC). Completing the Academy guarantees participants an interview for a Belfast-based Operations Excellence role at Deloitte within their Financial Services industry specialist group.
Highlighting the opportunity, Economy Minister Gordon Lyons said: "I am pleased to announce 20 training places on this Assured Skills Academy in Financial Services with Deloitte and SERC.
"This Academy is an excellent opportunity for people with a degree in any discipline, or a relevant Level 5 qualification plus experience, to reskill for a career in financial services and potentially gain employment with leading multinational Deloitte.
"I urge anyone who is interested and eligible to apply."
Due to the pandemic, training may be a hybrid of onsite and online learning through a virtual classroom provided by SERC.
Applications for the Deloitte Financial Services – Business Transformation Academy are open now and close on Sunday 30 January 2022.
Applicants must hold a minimum 2:2 degree in any discipline, or a Level 5 qualification (HND or foundation degree) in a related subject such as business, technology or data, plus one year’s relevant experience.
Green Party Welcomes Executive Action On Domestic Violence
The Green Party has welcomed the launch of the 'Call for Views' of the Domestic and Sexual Abuse Strategy and the Violence Against Women Strategy, but warns that it must be fit for purpose.
MLA for North Down Rachel Woods said: "In March last year, MLAs unanimously supported a motion calling for the introduction of a Violence Against Women Strategy. It's disappointing that it has taken this long for the Executive Ministers to just start the process of developing a strategy.
"Misogyny is deeply rooted in our society and has fatal consequences. 12 women that we know of have been murdered in Northern Ireland since the start of the pandemic. The introduction of a strategy to address this crisis, which recognises the systemic and institutionalised nature of gender based violence, is long overdue.
"The development of the new Domestic and Sexual Abuse Strategy is also welcome, and I hope it will ensure that the Executive delivers the necessary policies to support victims and survivors. However these strategies must be considered, reflect what is actually needed in society, and they must be fully resourced. It's also vital that legislation and protection, such as my Safe Leave Bill, is in place to support victims and survivors."

Belfast Giants legend and Head Coach Adam Keefe knows the importance access to high quality medical care all too well, after more than 15 years at the top of the professional ice hockey game.
