All Countries Removed From NI Red List
The NI Executive has announced that all countries have been removed from the Red List for travel, in line with all other UK regions.
The red list was reintroduced in late November as a precaution after the emergence of the Omicron variant.
The removal of the countries from the Red list will be implemented by way of an amendment to the Health Protection (Coronavirus, International Travel) Regulations (NI) 20201.
The 11 countries to be removed from the red list are Angola, Botswana, Eswatini, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Nigeria, South Africa, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
Pre-Departure Testing (PDT) for vaccinated arrivals over 12 year olds in the 48 hours prior to starting the first leg of their journey to Northern Ireland remain in place as does the requirement for vaccinated non-red list arrivals to self-isolate and take a day 2 PCR test.
Arrivals must also remain in isolation until either they get a negative result from the day 2 PCR test or they remain in self-isolation for 10 days from their arrival in Northern Ireland if their day 2 test result is positive.

Belfast-based Red Box Media has produced a live show and inserts for the band Irish Rovers attracting over 170 million viewers in the US and Canada for the production. The programme produced for the Irish Rovers called 'At Home in Ireland' went on sale in the states as a video and was recorded at Belfast’s Waterfront Hall last Autumn.

Red Squirrel Faces New Threat
Northern Ireland's already dwindling red squirrel population was dealt another blow with the recent discovery of a fatal squirrel disease. The infected red squirrels were first spotted by members of the Tollymore Red Squirrel Group. This marks the first recorded instance of a red squirrel dying from this disease.

Hospital waiting lists fall
Waiting list figures released today show the number of patients waiting over 12 months has fallen by more than 38% in the last quarter. The latest waiting list figures revealed that the number of patients waiting over 12 months for the same treatment has decreased by 1,533 over the quarter and stands at 2,434.
