Woman Sentenced To Five And Half Years For Fraud Offences
A 46-year-old woman has been sentenced to five and half years for a number of fraud, forgery and money laundering offences.
Julie McBrien was sentenced 2 years 9 months in custody and 2 years 9 months on licence at Dungannon Crown Court.
Welcoming the conviction, Detective Constable McKee from the Police Service of Northern Ireland’s Economic Crime Unit said: "This was a serious crime in which Julie McBrien defrauded her employer out of approximately £1.8 million for her own personal gain. She was given a position of trust and in return she chose to abuse that trust.
"Her actions have had far reaching consequences for her employers who worked tirelessly to establish their company and who, in spite of their immense financial loss, continue to contribute to the economy by employing people from the local community.
"I hope this sentencing sends out a clear message to anyone who thinks they can get away with this type of crime. We will work tirelessly to bring offenders before the courts so that that victims receive the justice they deserve.
"I would ask anyone who believes they are a victim of fraud to contact police on the non-emergency number 101."

Fourteen Sentenced In East Belfast UVF Investigation
The PSNI have welcomed the sentencing of thirteen men and one woman in connection with an investigation into suspected criminality linked to the East Belfast UVF by the Paramilitary Crime Task Force. The defendants were sentenced over the five-week period, from 11 January to 16 February, at Belfast Crown Court.

Bank Employee Sentenced For Defrauding Customer
The PSNI have welcomed the sentencing of a 38-year-old woman at Dungannon Crown Court for theft, fraud by abuse of position and converting criminal property. It is understood that the charges related to an amount of money between £91,000 and £172,100 that was stolen over a period of three-and-a-half years.

Derry man jailed for crime committed 20 years ago
A Londonderry man has been jailed for nearly two years for sexually abusing three young sisters over 20 years ago. James Curran, 63, had his original sentence of probation overturned at the Appeal Court in Belfast. He was also sentenced to three years probation for indecent assaults.

Nurse Sentenced Over £25k Fraud
A bank nurse from Trillick, Omagh, has been handed a one-year prison sentence, suspended for three years, for falsely claiming £25,000 from her employers. 27-year-old Kimberly Jameson, or Castlehill Road, was sentenced at Dungannon Crown Court.
