Man Stabbed While Running In Bangor

Police in Bangor have issued an appeal for information after a man was stabbed while running in the town.

A man was running in the Stricklands Glen area of the town at about 8pm on Saturday 30 October, when another man emerged from a forested area and hit the man on the head. The attacker demanded the runner's phone, but when the runner resisted, the attacker stabbed him in the abdomen.

He is described as around 6ft tall and was wearing a black puffer jacket, tracksuit and a cap. He is believed to have run off towards the beach after the attack.

The runner required hospital treatment for his injuries.

Police have appealed to anyone with any information about the attack, or anyone who may have been in the area at the time of the incident and witnessed anything suspicious, to contact them.

Woman Escapes Injury After Arson Attack In Belfast
A woman has escaped injury after a fire in the Broadway area of Belfast. The incident is being treated as arson with intent to endanger life. Considerable smoke damage was caused to the property and fire crews attended the scene at around 9pm. Police are appealing for information after a man was seen running away from the scene.

Couple escape injury in arson attack
A Co Down couple have escaped injury following a petrol bomb attack at their home in Moira, Co Down. It is believed that three petrol bombs were thrown at the house shortly after 1.20am this morning. The couple, who were in bed at the time, escaped unhurt. Some damage was caused to their front door and a car.

Man Stabbed In West Belfast
A man is in a serious condition in hospital after being stabbed in west Belfast. The attack happened in the Hawthorn Street area at around 1.40pm on Thursday. The victim is believed to be in his 30s. A section of Hawthorn Street was closed and police examined the area. Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.

Hopes Rise For More UDA Disarmament
