Appeal For Information On 'Vicious Attack' In North Belfast
The PSNI have issued an appeal for information following a "vicious attack" in north Belfast.
Police have said that a man suffered a serious head injury when he was attacked during a burglary at his flat on Edinburgh Street at about 22:30 on Saturday, 23 October.
The man require hospital treatment for his injury. Police have said that they believe the man was struck with a hammer.
The attacker has been described as approximately 5' 10" and of slim build. He is said to have been wearing a black and white t-shirt.
Police have appealed to anyone with information about the incident, or who may have witnessed anything suspicious in the area around the time of the attack, to contact them.

Police Cancel Appeal For Missing Omagh Man
Police have said they believe missing Omagh man, Shane Sharkey, has been found in the Republic of Ireland. A police appeal for help in finding the 35-year-old has been cancelled, with police saying they now believe they know where he is. No further details have been released but police thanked the public for their help.

Man Shot In Co L'Derry
A man has been shot in the ankle in Co L'Derry. The paramilitary-style attack happened near the Creggan shops at around 7.45pm on Thursday, 07 December. The 41-year-old man has been taken to hospital to be treated, however his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening. Police described the shooting as "brutal and horrific".

Man Shot In County Down
A 28-year-old man has been shot in the leg in a gun attack in County Down. The man was getting out of his car at the Quays in Killyleagh at about 1.00am on Wednesday morning when a man approached him and shot him. The man is recovering in hospital where his injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

Police Officers Disciplined For Failing To Tell Doctor About Woman's Head Injuries
Two police officers have been disciplined after they failed to let their colleagues and a police doctor know that a woman had sustained a head injury, a Police Ombudsman investigation has concluded. The woman died from bleeding to the brain on 24 February 2014, the day after she suffered the injury.
