Minister's To Debate Remaining Covid-19 Restrictions

Minister's are due to debate Northern Ireland's remaining nine Covid-19 restrictions, after chief medical officer Sir Michael McBride and chief scientific adviser Prof Ian Young recommended that they remain in place.

The currently legally enforceable restrictions include social distancing and the wearing of masks in some indoor hospitality and retail settings.

Minister's will meet today, Thursday 23 September, where they will hold their first face-to-face meeting in almost a year.

According to reports, minister's are also to discuss the potential introduction of vaccine certificates. It is understood that the move has been "strongly recommended" by health officials, in particular should social distancing guidance be dropped.
