Investigation Launched Over 'Hate Crimes' At Football Match In Belfast
The PSNI have launched an investigation over allegations of “hate crimes” at a football match in Belfast on Friday, 03 September.
A man sustained cuts to his face when an object was thrown at him at around 9pm following the game at the Girdwood Community Hub.
A police spokesperson said: "Police also received further reports that a number of people had been subjected to sectarian abuse during the game.
"Investigations are ongoing into these incidents, which are being treated as hate crimes."

German police to liase with PSNI for football match
German police are to arrive in Northern Ireland to work alongside the PSNI ahead of this weekend’s football friendly at Windsor Park. The officers are to operate as ‘spotters’ in the event that there is any disorder real or anticipated, on the part of German fans, for the Northern Ireland versus Germany fixture.

The PSNI have launched an investigation after a fight broke out at a football match in north Belfast. It followed the Co Antrim Junior Shield Final between Suffolk FC and Woodvale FD. Suffolk won the match 3-1 at Seaview on Wednesday, 26 April. However, in online footage, a brawl breaks out just after Suffolk were given their shield.

Two released in Loughinisland murder investigation
Two people arrested yesterday in connection with the with the murder of six men in County Down in 1994, have been released without charge. The 45-year-old man and 38-year-old woman were arrested in the greater Belfast area yesterday morning and were held for questioning at the serious crime suite in Antrim.
