SF Call For UN Experts To Be Invited For Legacy Talks
Sinn Féin Vice President and Deputy First Minister Michelle O'Neill has called for UN experts to be invited to the north to take part in ongoing legacy talks and speak with victims' families.
Speaking after writing to the British and Irish governments, Michelle O'Neill said: "The intervention by UN experts and their opposition and rejection of the British government's amnesty proposals is a wake-up call that the international community is now also alert and aware of the cynical intent at the core of these proposals.
"With the jointly convened Irish-British legacy talks ongoing, I am calling for an invitation to be extended to the UN experts to come to the North, to contribute to the legacy talks and to talk with victims' families who have spoken with a consistent voice to reject these proposals.
"I have already urged Brandon Lewis to listen to the voices of victims and their families and withdraw these controversial legacy proposals and instead commit to fully implementing the Stormont House Agreement in a human rights compliant manner.
"Full implementation of that agreement is the best way to ensure that grieving families finally get access to the truth about the deaths of their loved ones."

New Legacy Inquest System Launched To Speed Up Investigations
The Department of Justice has launched a £55 million initiative with a new Coroner investigation unit in a bid speed up legacy inquests and address all outstanding cases. It comes as some of the "most sensitive, complex and high profile deaths" during the Troubles are yet to be fully investigated, according to the department.

DUP 'Unaware' Of Funding For Legacy Requests
Arlene Foster has claimed "no one in the DUP was aware" of funding for legacy requests. The DUP leader said it would be "astonishing" if the government granted funding. The statement came after DUP MP Jeffrey Donaldson told The View programme he was "unaware" of an alleged deal to release money for Troubles legacy inquests.

SF Slams Attempts To 'Run Down The Clock' On Legacy Act
Sinn Féin has said that attempts to "run down the clock" until the controversial Legacy Act is enacted are "cynical and cruel". North Belfast MP, John Finucane, said: "I welcome and agree with the assessment of former Police Ombudsman Nuala O'Loan that state bodies are attempting to 'run down the clock' until the Legacy Act is enacted.

First Hiroshima Survivor Tree Sapling Planted In NI
The first Hiroshima Survivor Tree sapling in Northern Ireland has been planted by Environment Minister Edwin Poots at CAFRE's Greenmount campus in Antrim. The sapling planted by the Minister was grown from seed sent to CAFRE in early 2020 by the Green Legacy Hiroshima (GLH) Initiative.
