Yellow Warning For Thunderstorms Across NI
A Yellow Warning for Thunderstorms remains in place for Northern Ireland.
The Met Office has warned that heavy showers and thunderstorms may cause flooding and travel disruption in a few places.
What to expect:
• Spray and sudden flooding could lead to difficult driving conditions and some road closures
• Where flooding or lightning strikes occur, there is a chance of delays and some cancellations to train and bus services
• There is a slight chance that power cuts could occur and other services to some homes and businesses could be lost
• There is a small chance that homes and businesses could be flooded quickly, with damage to some buildings from floodwater, lightning strikes, hail or strong winds
The weather warning is in place until 9pm tonight.
Woman Hit By JCB On Ormeau Avenue
The PSNI have issued an appeal for information following a collision between a female pedestrian and a JCB digger in the early hours of Sunday morning.
According to reports, at around 1.15am a woman was crossing the road at Ormeau Avenue when she was struck by a JCB. Members of the public went to the woman's aid until police and ambulance arrived on the scene. The woman is said to have suffered a broken leg in the collision.
Police have appealed to anyone who witnessed the collision to contact them.
SDLP Announce Candidates For Next Assembly Election
The SDLP have announced their candidates to contest Foyle in the next Assembly election.
Sitting MLAs Mark H Durkan and Sinéad McLaughlin have been selected to run alongside Derry councillor and former Mayor of Derry and Strabane Brian Tierney.
SDLP Leader Colum Eastwood said: "I am delighted the party has selected these three excellent candidates to contest Foyle in the upcoming Assembly election. Mark H Durkan has been a dedicated, diligent and caring representative for the people of Derry for many years. Sinéad McLaughlin has enriched our Assembly team with her experience and background in driving investment across the city. Brian Tierney has been an outstanding public representative working hard to help people every day, most recently making the whole city proud as our Mayor during an incredibly difficult period.
"There's much work to be done. Our plans for this city are big and bold and I hope to see three SDLP candidates elected to end the legacy of neglect and deliver for the people of Derry."

SDLP's Dominic Bradley To Retire Next Year
SDLP Assembly Member Dominic Bradley MLA has announced that he is to retire from frontline politics at the next election. Mr Bradley has been an SDLP Assembly Member since 2003. He said he believed it was now time to pass on the baton to other SDLP representatives in the Constituency.

Belleek Pottery to cut production to three-day week
Workers at Belleek Pottery in County Fermanagh have been told that the firm is to go on a three-day working week from Monday June 10. The firm said that the decision was made because of a downturn in business since September 11 and a dip in tourist numbers.

Voters were going to the polls today to elect representatives for the Northern Ireland's Legislative Assembly. Over one million people are entitled to vote in the election being held today, which has 256 candidates vying for the 108 MLA (Members of the Legislative Assembly) seats spead across the 18 constituencies.

Counting Underway In Local Council Elections
The counting process has begun in Northern Ireland's council elections. Ballot boxes were opened in 11 count centres across the region at 8am this morning, Friday 03 May, commencing the two-day count. The 1,463 polling stations closed their doors at 10pm last night, sealing the fate of the 819 candidates fighting for 462 seats.
