Larne And Linfield Progress In Europa Conference League

Irish Premiership sides Larne and Linfield have progressed into the next round of the Europa Conference League qualifiers after two draws.

Linfield, who went into last night's second leg with a 4-0 lead against Borac Banja Luka, got through comfortably after playing a goalless draw in Bosnia.

Larne travelled to Denmark to face AGF Aarhus with the NI side having a slight 2-1 advantage following a win on home turf. Tiernan Lynch's team held onto a 1-1 draw to progress to the next round. Despite taking a first half lead against 10-man Aarhus, the Danes drew level with 20 minutes to go but Larne were able to keep them out for the rest of the match, securing their place in the next round.

They will now prepare to face Pacos de Ferreira of Portugal in the third qualifying round, with the first leg set to take place on 05 August with the return fixture at Inver Park a week later.

Linfield will also welcome Fola Esch to Windsor Park next week for the first leg of the qualifying round.
