Police attacked with paint bombs

Police have been attacked in the early hours of this morning after investigating an attempt to burn out a car in Holywood, Co Down.

Bags of paint were thrown at officers as they investigated a vehicle outside the police training college, Garneville at around 12.15am.

Two petrol bombs had earlier been thrown at the vehicle, but failed to ignite.

No one was injured in the incident, however two cars in the area were damaged.

Police have appealed for anyone with information to contact them.

Two Arrested In Jim Donegan Murder Probe
Police investigating the murder of Jim Donegan have arrested two men. The 43-year-old was shot dead as he sat in his car waiting to collect his son from school on the Glen Road in west Belfast on 04 December 2018. The detained men, aged 53 and 39, were arrested under the Terrorism Act this morning, Friday 26 April.

Man Arrested Over Dissident Activity Released Unconditionally
A man who was arrested in L'Derry by police investigating violent dissident terrorist criminality has been released. The 20-year-old was arrested on Tuesday. He was taken to Antrim police station for questioning. The man was released unconditionally on Tuesday evening.

Man Charged With Colin Horner Murder
A man is due to appear in court today, Monday 19 June, charged in connection with the murder of Colin Horner. Mr Horner was shot dead as he held his young son in a supermarket car park in Bangor, Co Down on Sunday 28 May. Police investigating the murder arrested a 29-year-old man on Friday 16 June.

Man Arrested Over Murder Of George Gilmore
A 39-year-old man has been arrested by police investigating the murder of George Gilmore. Mr Gilmore, aged 44, was shot in the neck in Carrickfergus on Monday, 13 March. He died from his injuries in hospital the following day, 14 March. The suspect was detained in Co Antrim on Wednesday, 12 April, and is being questioned at Musgrave police station.
