Westlink Suicide Prevention Measures Welcomed
Measures being introduced to help prevent suicides on bridges across the Westlink have been welcomed by Sinn Féin MLA Carál Ní Chuilín.
The North Belfast MLA said: "I welcome work to look at installing suicide prevention measures on bridges across the Westlink.
"Temporary proposals will be put in place, including high railings to prevent people from climbing over the bridge.
"The Department of Infrastructure have confirmed that officials will consider the outcomes of the feasibility study to find a long-term solution to stop people from climbing.
"We have had tragedies on these bridges over the last number years and we will continue working to deliver prevention measures alongside proper mental health support for people in crisis."

Police Concern Over Organised Fights
Police are concerned about a number of organised fights that have been taking place in north Belfast. The PSNI says groups of young people have been involved in fights in Brougham Street and the Waterworks park over the past weekends. They said some of those involved were armed with knives and hammers.

SF Calls For Action On NI Mental Health Services
Sinn Féin has called for more to be done to improve mental health services across the north of Ireland. The party's mental health spokesperson, MLA Órlaithí Flynn, made the call after the release of the Registrar General's 2023 Annual Report which has highlighted an increase in deaths by suicide in 2023.

120 Jobs Threatened At NIE
Around 120 workers at Northern Ireland Electricity are in danger of losing their jobs, after the power provider announced it was introducing a voluntary redundancy scheme. NIE said the move was part of cost-cutting measures within the company.
