Mobile Vaccination Centres Open Across NI

A host of mobile vaccination centres have begun to open across Northern Ireland, offering anyone aged 18 and over the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine without an appointment.

The 11 centres will offer the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines, while some pharmacies are offering Astra Zeneca.

The walk-in vaccination clinics include:

Whitla Hall, QUB – Wed 07 to Sat 10 July, 10am-6pm

Western Trust

Millennium Forum - Thurs 08 July, 4pm-8pm; Fri 09 July, 4pm-8pm; Sat 10 July, 12pm-5pm

Limavady Leisure Centre, - Thurs 15 July, 4pm-8pm

South Eastern Trust

Bloomfield Shopping Centre, Bangor – Sat 10 July, 11am-7pm

Translink Abbey Street, Bangor – Sun 11 July, 11am-7pm

Laganvalley Leisureplex, Lisburn – Sat 24 & Sun 25 July, 11am-7pm

Londonderry Park, Newtownards – Sat 31 July, 11am-7pm

Ards Shopping Centre, Newtownards – Sun 01 August, 11am-7pm

Southern Trust

Tommy Makem Arts and Community Centre, Keady - Fri 09 July, 9.30am-3.30pm

Walk-in first dose jabs - no appointment necessary - are also increasingly available at the main Trust vaccination centres.

The Department of Health has published a new up-to-date list of the latest walk-in vaccination clinics. No appointment is needed to get a vaccination.

5,532 Driving Tests Conducted In July 2021
The Driver and Vehicle Agency (DVA) conducted 5,532 driving tests in July 2021, 53% higher than the five year July average, according to the latest 'DVA Monthly Tests Conducted Statistics'. Following the easing of COVID-19 restrictions, driver testing was able to resume from 23 April 2021 onwards.

Easyjet's Decision To Remove Twelfth July Article Condemned
The DUP has condemned an airlines decision to remove an article promoting the Twelfth of July parades in its in-flight magazine. North Belfast MLA is also calling on Easyjet to clarify if the author of the piece has been sacked.

Students Urged To Get Meningococcal Vaccine
School leavers and first-time university students are being urged to get the new meningococcal vaccine which is available from today, 03 August. The Public Health Agency said everyone born between 2 July 1996 and 1 July 1997, and first time university students up to the age of 25, will be offered the Men ACWY vaccine.

L'Derry In Round-The-World Race
L'Derry is to take part in two round-the-world yacht races in 2013-14 and 2015-16. The Clipper Round the World Yacht Race will see a L'Derry City Yacht compete, while the city will also welcome the fleet as part of a biennial maritime festival planned for July 2014 and July 2016.
