Further Covid-19 Relaxations To Be Discussed
The Northern Ireland Executive is preparing to meet later today, Thursday 07 July, to discuss the easing of more coronavirus restrictions.
According to reports, a new indicative date of 26 July will be announced for theatres and indoor seated venues to reopen.
These announcements come after Prime Minister Boris Johnson unveiled plans for the final stage of lockdown in England, which include no legal requirements for facemasks or social distancing from 19 July.
Deputy First Minister Michelle O'Neill has already expressed concern at the news across the pond, stating that Northern Ireland would not be following suit.
Taking to Twitter earlier this week, the Sinn Féin leader said: "Boris Johnson's announcements today refer to England only. The Executive will take its own decisions based on our own information on how to exit the current restrictions. The level of infection is on a rapid increase and it will claim many lives."
