Man Arrested In Connection With Drug Seizure In Belfast

A 28-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a drug seizure made during a police search operation in Belfast.

Officers from the Belfast Central Neighbourhood Policing Team and officers from the Paramilitary Crime Task seized a quantity of suspected Class A and Class C controlled drugs.

Detective Sergeant Gourley said: "Following a proactive policing operation at residential premises in Belfast City Centre shortly after 11:20am, a quantity of suspected Class A and Class C drugs with an estimated street value of £5,000, a quantity of jewellery and other drugs paraphernalia were seized. All of the items have been removed for further forensic examinations.

"A 28 year old man was arrested on suspicion of possession of a Class A controlled drug, possession of a Class A controlled drug with intent to supply, possession of a Class C controlled drug, possession of a Class C controlled drug with intent to supply and handling stolen goods. The man remains in police custody at this time.
