KPMG And Belfast Met Create New Training Scheme
KPMG and Belfast Met have created 20 new high quality training places on an Applied Intelligence Assured Skills Academy, Economy Minister Paul Frew has announced.
Open to applications from people with a degree in any discipline, or a level 5 qualification in an ICT-related subject, the Assured Skills Academy will see participants receive industry-relevant pre-employment training with Belfast Met from 23 August to 26 October.
Completing the training guarantees participants an interview for a Consulting Analyst position at KPMG's Belfast Centre of Excellence.
Highlighting the opportunity, Mr Frew said: "I am very pleased, on my first day as Economy Minister, to announce this Assured Skills Academy with KPMG, focussing on the cutting edge area of Applied Intelligence.
"This is the third Assured Skills Academy with KPMG, following the announcement in February that the company is creating 200 new jobs, with the potential to fill 160 of those through Assured Skills Academies.
"With no experience needed, this is a fantastic opportunity to join a multinational company with an expanding presence in Northern Ireland and I urge anyone who is interested and eligible to apply."
Johnny Hanna, Partner in Charge of KPMG in Northern Ireland, said: "As we continue our commitment to expanding the Northern Ireland team, KPMG are delighted to again offer ambitious graduates from any discipline the opportunity to develop a professional career in the exciting and challenging field of applied intelligence.
"This is a great opportunity for those who have a natural curiosity to solve complex business challenges and a desire to become the digital business leaders of tomorrow."
The Assured Skills Academy will provide training at Belfast Met in areas including Intermediate Excel for AI and Data; PL-900; DP-900; AI-900; Python in the context of AI; Advanced Python; Capstone Project – Application of Learning, and DP -100.
Participants will also receive £155 per week training allowance.
Louise Warde Hunter, Principal and Chief Executive of Belfast Met, said: "This is the third Assured Skills Academy that will be delivered by Belfast Met with KPMG and DfE this year, continuing proof that FE can be a first choice for learners in helping them secure their pathway to career success.
"Belfast Met is committed to working with industry partners and learners so that the future workforce will have vital industry skills that are in demand by employers. The career boosting training that participants receive will provide essential skills and life-changing employment opportunities vital in driving our economy."
Applications for the KPMG Applied Intelligence Assured Skills Academy are open now and close at noon on Friday 9 July.
