£900,000 Suspected Cannabis Seized During Major Operation

Suspected cannabis worth an estimated £900,000 has been seized during a major cross-border operation targeting organised crime.

The seizure took place on Wednesday night, 26 May, along the main A1 road near Loughbrickland.

The PSNI says its officers were supported by colleagues from An Garda Síochána.

One man has been arrested and remains in police custody.

A man is facing charges for drugs offences after police seized around £60,000 of cannabis in County Down. The drugs were discovered during a vehicle stop and search in Moira on Thursday, 19 September. Detectives have charged the 49-year-old man with possession and possession with intent to supply a Class B controlled drug.

Man Charged With Drugs Offences In Co Antrim
A man has been charged with drugs offences in Co Antrim. The 42-year-old man was charged after police seized £30,000 of suspected herbal cannabis in the Ballymoney area. He was arrested on the Frosses Road on Monday. He has been charged with possession of a class B controlled drug and possession of a class B controlled drug with intent to supply.

Major Cocaine Seizure In Draperstown
A man has been arrested in connection with a major drug seizure in Draperstown. Approximately 1.2kg of suspected cocaine, with an estimated street value of £50,000, was seized by officers from Cookstown District Support Team during a planned search of a residential property in The Orchard area of the town.

Funeral for dinghy tragedy teenager
A Coleraine teenager, who drowned off the coast of Castlerock, is to be buried today. Robert McMullan, 15, died when the dinghy he was in with a friend got into difficulties and capsized on Tuesday. He was airlifted to hospital, but died later. His friend managed to swim to shore and raised the alarm.
