Whiteabbey Nightingale Rehabilitation Facility Stood Down
The Nightingale rehabilitation facility at Whiteabbey hospital is being stood down for Coronavirus patients, the Northern Trust has announced.
The 100-bed facility opened last November as a "step down" hospital for people not ready to return home.
It will now be used as a non-Covid enhanced rehabilitation unit.
Health Minister Robin Swann thanked all of the staff at the centre and said they provided exceptional levels of nursing.

Omagh Hospital's 'First Phase' Approved
This week, the Stormont Health Minister Edwin Poots has announced £75m for the first phase of a new local hospital in Co Tyrone. However, it is not known if the 'business case' for a second Omagh facility will be send soon to the NI Department of Finance and Personnel for approval, as there remains doubts over progress for the next stage.

There's good news this week for those caring for disabled children. The Stormont Health Minister Michael McGimpsey yesterday announced a £2.2million investment to develop a new residential respite facility for disabled children in the Western Trust area.
