Man Arrested In Connection With Danny McClean Murder

A 56-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the murder of Danny McClean.

The PSNI's Major Investigation Team arrested the suspect under the Terrorism Act in north Belfast on Wednesday, 14 April.

Mr McClean, aged 54, was murdered 2 February this year.

The man has been taken to Musgrave Serious Crime Suite to be questioned.

Mr McClean was a former senior member of Óglaigh na hÉireann and was shot dead behind the wheel of his car in the Cliftonville Road area of north Belfast.

Man Arrested On Suspicion Of Attempted Murder
A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder over an attack in Coleraine, Co L'Derry. A man, aged in his 50s, is in a critical condition in hospital after he was assaulted at a house on the Ballycastle Road on Monday, 26 September. Two other men were also arrested and have been released on bail pending further enquiries.

Man Released On Bail Over Lurgan Murder
A man arrested in connection with a murder in Lurgan on Sunday, 06 August, has been released on bail pending further enquiries. The body of a man, aged 45, was discovered at a flat on Victoria Street. Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.

Arrest Over Attempted Murder
Police have arrested a 25-year-old man in on suspicion of attempted murder following an incident on the Limestone Road in north Belfast on Friday night. A 25-year-old man was taken to hospital for treatment for injuries sustained during the attack, in which a number of people are believed to have been involved.

James McClean To Retire From International Football
Derry man James McClean has announced that he is retiring from International football. The RoI winger, who has earned over 100 caps for his country, said the New Zealand friendly will be his final appearance in November. In a post on social media he said: "It has meant the absolute world and more to be able to pull on the green jersey with honour.
