Nightingale Facility De-Escalated
The Nightingale facility at Belfast City Hospital has been de-escalated.
The Belfast Health Trust described the move as a "significant milestone" in the fight against the Coronavirus pandemic.
Patients with Covid will be treated at the Mater Hospital.
In a statement, the trust said Belfast City Hospital will continue to provide care and treatment to patients across a range of specialities including haematology and renal services.
However it added that it will also be necessary to maintain flexibility within the system to respond to any potential further surges of Covid-19.

NI Misses Cancer Treatment Targets
Northern Ireland's hospitals have failed to meet target times for the treatment of patients referred for suspected cancer, a new report by the Department of Health revealed. Its guidelines say 95% of patients should begin their treatment within 62 days. Last December however, the figure stood at 81%, which was the third monthly fall in a row.

Belfast Hospitals 'Bugged'
Hospital hygiene is again in focus this week as a number of cases of the clostridium difficile (c.diff) bacterium have been identified in the South Eastern Trust area and a second case of tuberculosis has been confirmed at Belfast City Hospital.

Inquiry Hears Of Child Deaths In Local Hosptials
The deaths of five children while in hospital are being investigated as part of a public inquiry. The parents of nine-year-old Claire Roberts, who died in hospital in 1996, wept as details of her death were read out. The hearing was told that Claire was overdosed with medication and excess fluids.

Four staff members at a residential facility in Co Antrim have been have been excluded from work and an investigation has been launched over allegations about their conduct. Muckamore Abbey Hospital provides care for vulnerable adults with intellectual disability, behavioural or mental problems.

Royal Infection 'Contributed' To Three Deaths
Three patients at a top Belfast hospital have died following an outbreak of a serious infection in the facility. Belfast Health and Social Trust said five patients were confirmed as suffering from listeriosis. Three who were ill with other conditions, died.
