Man Arrested In Connection With Series Of Burglaries In Holywood

An investigation has been launched following a number of burglaries in Holywood, Co Down, that police have said they believe may be linked.

Police received a report just after 2.20am on Sunday 15 November, that the occupant of a property on Victoria Road had disturbed a masked male intruder in their home, who then fled the property. It was reported a vehicle at this property was also entered and searched.

A short time later, police stopped and arrested a 23-year-old man on suspicion of burglary with intent to steal.

Later that morning, at around 7.20am, police received a report of a burglary at a property on Bangor Road in Holywood where entry was made sometime during the night. It's not known at this time what, if anything, was taken, however, damage was caused to a door. Then at around 8:35am another report of suspicious circumstances at an address on Victoria Road in Holywood was received. It was reported that items to the rear of the property had been strewn around the garden.

Police also came across another vehicle on Victoria Road that was entered and items taken.

While police were dealing with these reports, at around 8:45am, they received a report of a burglary at a property on Bangor Road in Holywood. It was reported the property was ransacked. It's not known if anything was taken. 

Detective Constable Ann Kennedy said: "At this time, we believe these incidents may be linked and we are appealing to anyone who has information about them, or witnessed any suspicious activity, to get in touch with us on 101, and quote reference number 402 of 15/11/20."

Police Appeal For Information On Burglaries In Holywood And Dundonald
The PSNI have issued two separate appeals for information on burglaries in Holywood and Dundonald. Detectives are appealing for information following a report of a burglary of a house in Holywood on the evening of Friday 20th November.

Police Probe Spate Of L'Derry Burglaries
Police are probing five burglaries in L'Derry over the weekend which they believe may be linked. On Saturday evening, 31 August, two homes in the Coolen Park area of Culmore were targeted, with rooms ransacked and money and jewellery stolen. These incidents took place between 5.40pm and 7.53pm.
