8 New Coronavirus Deaths Recorded
Coronavirus related deaths have risen to 724 with a further 8 recorded deaths, according to the latest 'dashboard update' from the Department of Health.
According to the figures 493 new positive cases have been reported in the last 24 hours. The total number of cases since the beginning of the pandemic now stands at 39,609.
There are currently 52 coronavirus patients in ICU's in NI, while occupancy rates in NI hospitals is currently 94%.

Six people who tested positive for coronavirus in Northern Ireland have died in the last 24 hours, according to the latest figures. A total of 570 people have tested positive out of 2,676 individuals tested, according to the Department of Health.

Danske Bank Lowers Economic Growth Forecast
Danske Bank has announced that it has lowered its forecast for the growth of the Northern Ireland economy in 2022. The bank has said that it expects the pace of economic growth to have slowed in the final quarter of 2021, in part due to the impact of the Omicron coronavirus variant on consumer-focused sectors.

IFA Suspends Local Football Fixtures
The Irish Football Association has suspended the current season in response to the evolving coronavirus situation. This includes all Irish League fixtures and domestic football in Northern Ireland. The matches will be rescheduled at a later date, but not before 04 April at the earliest.

NI Covid-Related Deaths Pass 1,000
The number of Covid-related deaths recorded by the Department of Health has passed 1,000. Health Minister Robin Swann described the total number of deaths as a "sad milestone" and urged people to "never underestimate this virus, never assume it won't bring tragedy to your door".

218 Drug-Related Deaths In NI In 2020
A total of 218 drug-related deaths were registered in NI in 2020, the highest number of record and a continuation of an upwards trend. The figure was revealed in the latest report on Drug-related and drug-misuse deaths in Northern Ireland, 2010-2020, published by Northern Ireland Statistics and Research Agency (Nisra).
