Co Down Man Fights Off Hijackers
A driver has been left shaken after he was pulled from his car during an attempted vehicle hijacking in Downpatrick.
The victim managed to stop two males making off in his red Vauxhall Corsa when he was targeted in the Annacloy Road area on Tuesday evening, 10 March.
A blue 4X4 reportedly stopped in front of the car in the vicinity of the A7 Belfast Road at around 7.30pm.
Two men exited the car, with one pulling the victim from his vehicle and attempting to drive off before being forced out by its owner.
The assailants then made off in the blue vehicle in the direction of Downpatrick.
Police say the driver was uninjured but was left badly shaken up by the ordeal.
The man who attempted to drive off is described as being aged in his mid-20s, of medium build and wore a navy blue tracksuit and baseball cap.
Detectives would urge anyone who witnessed the incident or saw a blue 4X4 vehicle travelling along the Annacloy Road to contact detectives on 101 quoting reference 387 of 11/03/20.

Local beaches awarded Blue Flags
Eight beaches in Northern Ireland have been awarded Blue Flags on meeting the guideline standards. Last year the same number of awards were given to beaches with litter-free sands and bathing waters. Portrush East Strand, which missed out last year, was added, while Downhill Beach has gone off the list.
