£40k Cannabis Seized In Paramilitary Probe
A man has been arrested and cannabis worth £40,000 seized after two parcels destined for an address in Northern Ireland were intercepted.
Detectives from the Paramilitary Crime Task Force made the arrest amid a probe into the activities of the east Belfast UVF.
Two parcels were found to contain suspected cannabis when intercepted on Wednesday 11 March. The labelled destination was searched later on Wednesday, where a 32 year-old was detained.
The man is suspected of attempting to possess a class B drug with intent to supply.
Detective Inspector Hamilton said: "We continue to target paramilitaries, intent on supplying drugs and causing significant harm within our communities and I would urge anyone keen to assist us in our efforts to report any information they have to police on 101."

Man Charged Over £16,000 Cannabis Find
A 22-year-old man has been charged after £16,000 worth of cannabis plants were seized in L'Derry. The discovery was made after police searched a house in the Waterside area on Friday, 22 September. The suspect has been accused of growing cannabis, possession of a Class B drug and intent to supply.

A man has been arrested in connection with the discovery of suspected cannabis plants worth an estimated £200,000 in Rathfriland. The suspected cannabis farm was uncovered by Newry, Mourne and Down District Support Team officers during the search of a property in the area. A number of items including phones were also seized during the search.
