Man Arrested Over INLA Drug Activity

Detectives investigating drug activities within the INLA paramilitary group have made an arrest.

The 33 year-old suspect was detained following a search in west Belfast on Tuesday evening, 10 March, during which a quantity of class B and C drugs were seized.

A substantial sum of money and the drug pregabalin were also discovered.

The man is detained on suspicion of possession of controlled drugs, being concerned in the supply of drugs and possession of criminal property.

Detective Inspector Hamilton said: "This search targeting the criminal activities of the INLA evidence our continuing commitment to tackling the farm caused by paramilitaries supplying drugs in our communities.

"Anyone with concerns of criminal activity should contact police on 101 or alternatively, call the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 which is 100% anonymous and gives people the power to speak up and stop crime."
