Suspected Gun Seized Amid Dissident Probe

The PSNI's Terrorism Investigations Unit has recovered a suspected firearm and a quantity of ammunition as part of an ongoing probe into violent dissident republican activity.

Tactical support officers carried out the search in the Spout Road area on Saturday 07 March, seizing both the gun and ammunition for forensic examination.

Detective Inspector Anthony Kelly said: "There is no place for this type of activity and the vast majority of people in our communities want to live in a peaceful society."

Anyone with information regarding dissident republican organisations operating in their area is urged to contact police on 101 quoting reference 765 of 07/03/20.
