Man Due In Court Over Alleged Child Sex Abuse

A man is due in court this morning, Monday 09 March, over the alleged sex abuse of a child.

The 31 year-old has been charged with two counts of causing or inciting a child under 13 to engage in sexual activity.

The charges follow a report to police in the Lurgan area on Thursday 05 March.

The suspect will appear before Lisburn Magistrates Court.

All charges will be reviewed by the PPS, as is normal procedure.

Priest found guilty of facilitating child sex offence
A County Fermanagh priest has been found guilty of facilitating a child sex offence against a 12-year-old girl. The jury at Liverpool Crown Court heard Father Jeremiah McGrath, 63, from Rosslea gave more than £20,000 to convicted child rapist William Adams. He then spent the money grooming the girl from Liverpool.

Legal Bid Attempts To Identify Source Of Threats Posted On Facebook
The High Court has heard that there will be a legal attempt to identify who made threats against a man on two Facebook pages connected to the union flag protests. The man’s lawyers hope to find out who posted comments on ‘Loyalists against Short Strand’ and ‘Loyalist Peaceful Protest Updater’.

Brothers Convicted Of Child Sex Abuse
Two brothers have been found guilty on a number of child sex abuse offences. One of the men, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was found guilty on 31 out of 38 abuse charges against his son and daughter. A number of the counts included rape. The other man, his brother, was convicted on seven charges of abusing the girl.

Three Released Over Historical Child Abuse Allegations
Three people arrested in connection with historical child abuse allegations in Co Down have been released pending further enquiries. Two men and a woman were detained by police in the Ballynahinch and Killyleagh areas on Tuesday, 27 March. They were questioned at Antrim Serious Crime Suite and have been released.

Three people have been arrested in connection with historical child abuse allegations in Co Down. Two men and a woman were detained in the Ballynahinch and Killyleagh areas on Tuesday, 27 March. They have been taken to Antrim Serious Crime Suite for questioning.
